At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home to three Nobel laureates, interdisciplinary teams of world-renowned scientists seek new and innovative ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. Fred Hutch’s pioneering work in bone marrow transplantation led to the development of immunotherapy, which harnesses the power of the immune system to treat cancer. An independent, nonprofit research institute based in Seattle, Fred Hutch houses the nation’s first cancer prevention research program, as well as the clinical coordinating center of the Women’s Health Initiative and the international headquarters of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network.   • Develop an organizational system to catalog 45 years of scientific manuscripts, communications, and email and written correspondence

  • Convert printed manuscripts and correspondence from hard copy to electronic

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Currently enrolled as undergraduate in a four-year university and be eligible for a work-study program

  • Must be able to read and comprehend complex scientific articles and professional correspondence

  • Strong proficiency in the English language

  • Flexibility and able to work independently without supervision

  • The ideal candidate would be pursuing a degree in History, English, Library & Information Science, Science and Technology Studies or Liberal Arts more broadly

  • Possess strong organizational capabilities and works meticulously

  • Computer skills using programs such as Excel and Microsoft Word
