Position Category: Fulfillment & Operations Management Company/Location (search) : Country (Full Name): : United States Job Description The Ops Tech IT Supply Chain organization manages a large suite of supplier portfolios and is responsible for a wide variety of global project initiatives that cross business teams and operations groups within Amazon Fulfillment IT. Projects vary significantly in complexity, size, and scope and include a wide range of project types, including but not limited to, new business initiatives, new facilities, new products, change management, and life-cycle. As a Demand Planner you will develop, manage, and maintain the S&OP process and tools for OPS Tech IT Supply Chain. You will also develop a capacity plan that is feasible, optimal, and in alignment with the strategic priorities of Amazon Fulfillment IT. In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Be the expert on the S&OP process; drive policy and business rule development and facilitate implementation with key stakeholders in the organization within agreed time frames; provide recommendations for improvements in business policies and practices. * Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand demand forecast drivers. * Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the demand forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and inventory levels). * Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function. * Creation of baseline commercial demand plan for assigned businesses, converting sales plans to unit plans. * Utilize historical consumption to convert the consensus chair forecast to component forecast and to set inventory targets (including safety stock and max levels). * Track, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements such as forecast accuracy, and inventory plan vs. targets. * Develop and integrate new fulfillment models that align customer demands to project plans, reduce total fulfillment costs, and optimize inventory placement. * Collaborate with cross functional teams on new product introduction forecast ramp and product life cycles processes. * Evolve and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems. * Review historical sales, seasonality, market trends and demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results. * Make recommended adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on changes in demand and market trends. * Work proactively with cross functional teams to avoid order shortages and excess inventory. * Provide input to developing strategies on existing items, new products and product phase-outs. * Provide proactive professional gap analysis of demand, financial and supply plans. * Adjustment baseline forecasts to include demand forecast exceptions as needed. * Lead cross-functional research and corrective action activities to reconcile significant demand forecast variances and refine the forecast model to reflect new learnings to the planning team's processes and tools. * Tracks, reports KPIs. Ensures master data is accurate and maintained. * Driving operational improvement, change initiatives, root cause analysis and corrective actions to continually improve demand plan quality.
