Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a high judgment, employee-obsessed, creative, and results-driven communications professional to lead new internal communications programs that focus on helping leaders increase employee engagement. This role will join the AWS Global Communications team, working closely across teams, including AWS Employer Brand, AWS HR Communications, AWS Internal Communications, AWS PR teams, and is part of Amazon’s overall Global Communications and Community Impact organization.

This is a new role driving new programs for the most senior leaders in our organization. A successful candidate will have experience building new programs, testing and learning along the way. They will have a history of earning trust with senior executives. They will also have a passion for telling employee stories. They will work across business functions, regions, and all levels of the organization to make sure our employees are a top-of-mind audience. They will be a subject matter expert for communications channels and best practices and will regularly be asked to provide their point of view, calling on their internal communications expertise.

This individual will have the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic organization and have a track record of generating results. They must be a self-starter and leader with meticulous attention to detail and the proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop programs and mechanisms for communications activities that can be replicated in more than one area

  • Develop compelling employee stories that resonate across AWS globally

  • Create measurement programs; set, and meet improvement goals

  • Partner closely with other internal communications teams, HR business partners, and AWS PR teams for key moments to help inform and delight employees

  • Identify emerging internal communications trends (content formats and subject matter)

  • Develop content and coordinate logistics for global internal events, including company meetings and leader town halls

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field

  • History of building measurement programs

  • History of driving content development for events

  • Experience creating content: digital, written, video, and/or audio communications materials

  • Track record in communications or PR for senior business leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Portfolio of work demonstrating the ability to tell complex stories in relatable terms

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done

  • Creativity and bias for action

  • Self-motivated individual requiring minimal direction

  • Track record in communications or PR for senior business leaders

  • Demonstrated experience building trust and influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Ability to think strategically and implement ideas from ideation to measurement/evaluation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
