This role is a part of New Shepard, a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Karman line - the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space. This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of diverse technicians, you will be working directly with flight hardware for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of reaching the goal of millions of people living and working in space. You will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and supporting testing of hardware for various spaceflight systems. This includes supporting production and development related activities that directly affect rocket launch vehicles and spacecraft. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Ability to interpret drawings and specifications. Experience in wet/dry installing of hi loc/hi lite, blind rivet, solid rivets type fasteners. Ability to use standard mechanical tools, precision measuring devices and fabrication shop equipment. Experience torquing fluid and pneumatic fittings. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or as a team. Experience drilling precision holes in a variety of materials (aluminum, composite, titanium) Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate differing opinions in a collaborative environment without conflict among other team members. Maintaining a clean and organized work area. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Blue Origin will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the Washington Fair Chance Act, Los Angeles Fair Chance in Hiring Ordinance, and other applicable laws. Desired: 10+ years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and vehicle integration. A&P license or equivalent experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and integration. Experience with assembly in a clean room environment. Experience handling/installing ESD sensitive components. Experience in structural/component bonding, including material preparation and adhesive mixing. Experience with orbital tube welding and/or composite structure fabrication. Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
