Robert Half Instructional Designer in Seattle, Washington

Description

Robert Half is seeking a creative and passionate Instructional Designer in Seattle to join the dynamic training team at a leading enterprise in the global e-commerce trade. This role is for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, pairs analytical problem-solving with a passion for developing engaging content, and has a drive for helping others learn.

Duration: 5 months

Location: Seattle, WA (onsite 1 day/week, WFH 4 days/week)

Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $33-37/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to define clear learning objectives.

  • Conduct needs analysis, evaluating existing documentation to identify gaps and opportunities.

  • Develop concise and clear content for training programs using methods (online, classroom or blended) that suit the content and the audience.

  • Create engaging evaluation tools to validate successful knowledge transfer.

  • Build efficient processes and templates to accelerate the creation of new training materials.

  • Maintain existing training programs ensuring content is updated and relevant.

  • Communicate effectively with other teams.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Creative thinker with exceptional writing abilities.

  • Experience with instructional design or technical writing in any educational environment.

  • Understanding of instructional theories, adult learning, on-the-job learning, and knowledge management.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office suite, HTML and Photoshop.

  • Prior experience with e-learning software, such as Captivate or Viewlet Builder

  • 1-3 years of experience in professional e-learning design

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Development of help content

  • Creation of standard operating procedures

  • Orchestrating content updates across multiple teams

  • Coordination and facilitation of customer support agent onboard trainings

  • Management of customer contact through email
