The School of Social Work (SSW) seeks a part time (75%) Human Resources/Payroll Fiscal Specialist to ensure the School’s 500+ employees of all ranks including faculty, staff, students, hourly appointments, and one-time payments are on-boarded and paid correctly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enter costing, in accordance with the UW payroll calendar, to ensure payroll is posted to correct budgets.

  • Monitor timesheet entries to ensure time and absence are recorded properly and timely, in accordance with UW polices and deadlines; work with employees and supervisors to resolve timesheet issues.

  • Support the H.R./Payroll team with hiring and on-boarding including creating and maintaining employee records, reviewing and processing I-9 information, and scheduling meetings and interviews.

  • Process special payments and correct over and underpayments.

  • Run and analyze workday reports related to payroll and time and absence functions.

  • Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Three years of fiscal record keeping experience or equivalent education/experience. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Proven ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize competing priorities among financial, payroll, and time and absence duties in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to provide excellent and consistent customer service in a constantly changing environment.

  • Must be accurate and detail oriented.

  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to self-direct; and be an active member of a diverse, hardworking team.

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • Experience with DocuSign, Workday, MS Teams, Zoom.
