The UW Medicine Human Resources Workforce Management Systems (WMS) department is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine Health System (UWMHS), including Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), Faculty Practice Plan Svcs (FPPS), Airlift Northwest (ALNW), and UW Medicine Shared Services. WMS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of HR infrastructure and applications which support all of these institutions, along with the implementation of new HR services and processes that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.
Under the general direction of the Manager for Projects and Reporting, the Analyst will partner with HR team members to provide a structured foundation to effectively and efficiently manage incoming and active projects within the project portfolio through the use of re-usable standards and streamlined processes, including needs assessments, project scoping, development of work plans in appropriate level of detail for the project size. The Analyst is responsible for working with HR Directors, HR staff, and customers to ensure that the solutions implemented by HR consistently meet the needs of our customers. The Analyst is a driver behind UW Medicine HR’s continued growth and success in becoming the employer of choice; with our commitment to continuous process improvement, the Analyst will help implement strategic initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity.
To support this work, the Analyst must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and an excellent listener and communicator who can communicate responsibilities and expectations to project team members and business owners; manage daily work assignments; identify and manage issues, risks and decisions; and ensure quality deliverables and outcomes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES HR Project Analyst [80%]
• Works with HR leaders, business owners and other clients to define and document business cases for HR project requests, including clear definition of business needs, alignment to strategic objectives, benefits, and KPIs. • Assists in facilitating scoping and requirements sessions with stakeholders. • Performs requirements analysis and verification to ensure that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable. • Manages requirements traceability information, and tracks requirements status throughout the project. • Identifies, documents and tracks issues through to resolution. • Effectively escalates identified issues and risks to supervisor, as needed. • Drafts communications and status updates to be shared with leadership, customers, and business stakeholders. • Supports development of testing scope and test cases; assists with executing unit, end-to-end and user acceptance testing. • Assists with impact analyses when project change requests are initiated. • Documents projects and process improvement efforts (via workflow diagraming, gap analysis, etc.), selecting appropriate documentation methods for complexity of the project and the target audience. • Establishes credibility and builds trusting relationships with business owners, customers, and leadership. • Effectively uses tools, templates, standards and reports to support HR Analyst functions. • Participates in feasibility studies, vendor selections, and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.
HR Processes and Technologies SME [15%]
• Develop extensive insight across HR processes (both within and external to Workday HCM) and adopted technologies and consistently apply this end-to-end perspective in conjunction with meeting the service delivery objectives of the UW Medicine HR team. • Identify process improvement opportunities to deliver enhanced customer services to the organization. Identify and develop relevant content for organization-specific training and development that may be added to the working repository of knowledge content.

• Contribute to an outstanding customer-service environment, including strong collaboration with key stakeholders • Apply tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers • Continue professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices. • Attend team and departmental meetings as appropriate.
Lead Responsibilities:
Peer Leadership: Must have ability to organize and lead a group of their peers; including being comfortable identifying and assigning tasks, verifying status, and escalating when needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in a technology field, a business-related field, or other discipline in a related field of study (e.g. Business, Finance, Technology). • 2+ years of progressive HR Analyst or Project Management experience, including: • Executing progressively more complex business analyses including scope definition, requirements gathering, business process re-engineering, etc. • Defining and translating users’ requests into effective, functional/non-functional and technical specifications and documentation. • Taking personal responsibility for meeting customer commitments and correcting customer problems. • Demonstrated ability to support and participate in cross-functional, cross organizational work groups to implement projects or organizational changes. • Experience developing traceability matrices from requirements and assisting with user testing of a software solution. • Collecting, compiling, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 1+ years hands-on functional experience in Workday HCM • 1+ years experience working in HR
WORKING CONDITIONS
• The work may be performed during the department’s core business hours; either by telecommuting or in an office environment, based on the team’s business requirements and manager approval. • Some off-hours and weekends may be needed to resolve problems and respond to emergencies. • Is expected to meet in-person as directed by manager. • Because of the physically separated sites for UW Medicine, this position requires the ability to travel to alternative work locations as needed.
