This position works with the Rapid Rehousing Program as a Housing Locator . The position works on developing and maintaining relationships with rental properties throughout King County that work with the young adult population. The position will require collaborative work with Rapid Rehousing programs that serve young adults, including completing housing quality standard inspections. This position will attend monthly meetings in the community related to Rapid Rehousing.
This position is at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of the Social Impact Center Y is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful, and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center Y’s programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems.

Hiring Range: $24.00 – 26.40/hr
Build and maintain strong relationships with Property managers in King County that are able to rent properties with participants that are served by the YMCA.
Must understand contract/grant terms and conditions to ensure program outcome requirements are met and services rendered to young adults appropriately.
Performs Housing Quality Standards inspections (HUD HQS Certification training provided) for all participants in Rapid Rehousing that are approved as tenants.
HQS inspections must always be done prior to move in and this position must be timely and efficient in responding to these requests and performing inspections in the community.
Maintains clear, professional, timely HQS inspection forms, re-inspection forms, progress updates, outcomes, and other documentation as needed in designated databases.
Teams effectively and collaboratively with YMCA staff and/or community partners to plan and provide referrals to housing opportunities.
Maintains and provides the monthly Hot Apartments resource list in the King County community. This is a list of available and affordable apartments in the county each month.
Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with funding liaisons, other service providers, businesses and/or educational institutions as related to specialized services.
Assist with services that are provided in the YMCA Young Adult Services Drop in Center.
May supervise volunteers, interns or national service members (AmeriCorps, etc.).
May assist with program coordination or other activities related to job focus.
Participates in YMCA annual fundraising campaign to engage community members in volunteerism and philanthropic support for the Y mission.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in low income housing, property management, fair housing or a closely related housing field in social services. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
Two years or more of related work experience, with proven experience in low income housing services or related field.
Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to visit rental properties and community organizations throughout King County.
Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, social services, or a closely related field.
Two years or more of related experience, with proven experience in training others.
One or more years of experience with staff and volunteer supervision, program development, and budget management.
Experience with and knowledge of youth behavior management and child abuse prevention.
Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to visit sites and community organizations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in social work, social services, or Real Estate a closely related field.
Life experience with poverty, child welfare, homelessness, behavioral health, or youth violence and a desire to use that experience to improve the lives of others.
