Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Health Services Manager in the Burn and Plastics Clinic. WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 100% FTE

  • Days DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Burn and Plastic Surgery Clinics at Harborview Medical Center offer outpatient care for adults and children with small acute burns and other acute and chronic wounds, as well as plastic reconstructive injuries. We treat a variety of conditions, including traumatic injuries to the face and jaw, skin disorders with skin loss, lacerations, pressure sores, ulcers, keloids, congenital defects, skin tumors, nerve/tendon injuries and amputations.

Patients receive wound care, dressing changes and outpatient physical therapy, including scar control. Our care team includes board-certified burn surgeons, plastic surgeons, registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, social workers and other medical professionals.

Patients also have easy access to other Harborview orthopedic clinics - the Foot & Ankle Center, Hand, Elbow & Shoulder Center, and the Spine Center - and the full services of UW Medicine for other specialty services or hospitalization POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Opportunity to provide career growth PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates the patient care program to ensure patients’ needs are met and that facility policies are followed in an environment that optimizes patient safety; works in coordination with the Assistant Nurse Manager/RN3 and supervisor

  • Plans, organizes, and manages day-to-day operations and activities of the clinic, including patient scheduling, surgical schedules, referrals, and clinic capacity issues. Takes necessary action to address problems.

  • Proactively manages patient revenues, expenses, and operating expenses (salaries and capital expense items) and provides appropriate reports to the Assistant Administrator and Medical Director as well as clinic staff and providers. Takes actions to correct problematic areas

  • Provides leadership of the clinic and sets direction in accordance with organizational goals and objectives

  • Works with the medical staff and nursing leadership to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care

  • Collaborates directly with Assistant Administrator and Medical Director regarding budget, access, referral/volume development, and physician productivity REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 2 years of experience in clinical service area(s)

  • Demonstrated management, leadership, and program management skills related to the defined tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities

  • For managers of clinical areas, if required, is registered, certified, and/or licensed to practice in the state of WA
