Introduction to the team
We are currently seeking a manager focusing on internal audit to join our Health Care Compliance and Internal Audit practice within the Health Care Consulting Group. The Internal Audit Service practice performsrisk assessments, audits, internal control assessments, operational / process improvement assessment, special projects, and project management support services. Our practice also includes the opportunity to work on compliance program assessments, HIPAA Privacy Program assessments, 340B Drug Pricing Program internal audits and assessments, and assess key compliance or internal audit Indicators. Responsibilities:
Identify and cultivate opportunities while overseeing internal audit projects for healthcare clients.
Collaborate with senior leadership of clients to establish a comprehensive internal audit program.
Assess areas of highest risk in relation to client objectives by reviewing documentation and conducting interviews and process walkthroughs to evaluate existing processes and controls.
Lead initiatives to analyze client business processes with the aim of enhancing financial performance.
Prepare comprehensive written reports that substantiate findings with appropriate documentation, relevant criteria, and actionable recommendations.
Partner with practice offices and healthcare clients to deliver robust internal audit support.
Ensure the achievement of economic objectives for each engagement.
Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects, staff, and client requests effectively.
Execute practice administration tasks, including client acceptance and billing procedures.
Implement internal human resource planning processes to ensure that qualified staff are available to accomplish business goals including recruiting, hiring, and developing professional staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in health care, business administration or related field required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in analyzing business risks, evaluating business processes, assessing internal controls, documenting work performed, and writing concise and persuasive project reports required
CIA, CPA or similar certification required
Experience in serving organizations with revenues that exceed $500 million
Experience with the 340B Drug Pricing Program or similar federal program preferred
Experience and exposure to HIPAA Privacy and Breach Notification Rule preferred
Experience working on a wide array of internal audit topics that spans not only financial but operational across the organization
Experience with Internal Audit Standards preferred
Excellent leadership and management abilities with supervisory experience over multiple projects and professional staff
Demonstrated skills in project planning, reviewing, and ensuring work is organized and documented
Good business judgment and creative problem-solving attributes, in addition to working experience and knowledge in a wide-range of client industries and environments
Ability to travel 30%
