Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth!As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will maintain the fluid systems of the New Shepard launch & landing facility as well as the launch vehicle processing facilities. Additionally, you will take part in the requirement definition for new systems and will be responsible for implementing, activating, and maintaining these processing facility systems which interface with New Shepard launch vehicles. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of New Shepard launch operations and maintenance. The Launch Facility Maintenance Engineer reports to the Launch & Landing Complex Manager and will work alongside a multi-disciplined engineering team and technicians to facilitate operation and maintenance of the fluids systems. Our team may also undertake small engineering design projects which add capabilities while improving the safety and reliability of the fluid systems. Your mission and safety critical work will ensure the launch and processing facilities are current on preventative maintenance for flight or ground test operations and ensure the processing facility systems are operational for vehicle refurbishment. You will draft and review work orders for routine and corrective maintenance procedures, understand configuration of the facility and equipment, and be proficient in the contents of system safety products. We are a small team that delivers results and demonstrates grit in the face of challenges. We work with intra-company functional groups, such as Test and Launch engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, and Quality, as well as contracted vendors to increase our throughput; being a team player is a must.This position is based in Van Horn, TX. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Qualifications:B.S. degree in engineering and direct experience with integrated system testing or similar technical hands-on experienceCapability for defining maintenance requirements, authoring maintenance procedures, scheduling preventative maintenance, and reporting preventative maintenance status.Experience maintaining and operating complex fluid systems and its components.Confirmed strong ability and desire to understand sophisticated systems, investigate and tackle challenging problems, and work in a dynamic environmentProven understanding of pressurized gas systems, fluid systems, instrumentation, and controlsExperience with hazardous operations and design for system safetyExperience with comprehending system schematics/P&ID using software such as AutoCAD P&ID.Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication techniques, integration processes, test planning, and quality controlExperience with test facility instrumentation, data acquisition and control systemsMust be able to work under pressure and takes initiative to improve existing systems, processes, and documentationAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationship
