We're looking for a Mid- to Senior-Level Geomorphologist who is inspired by stream restoration and passionate about improving stream ecology and fish passage programs. As a member of our Northwest Water Resources team, you will work with and lead a team of scientists and engineers as a part of a multidisciplinary team to assess and improve stream functions in the Puget Sound and the greater Pacific Northwest. Your Role: In this position, you'll work with a highly collaborative team to:

  • Lead and assist with technical studies, geomorphic assessments, and designs for ecological restoration and mitigation projects
  • Conduct stream field analyses (field and desktop), perform assessments of lateral and vertical channel stability, evaluate existing and future geomorphic hazards and risks, and compile findings in technical reports
  • Develop post-project channel and floodplain evolution projections.
  • Perform scour analyses.
  • Mentor junior staff to develop skillsets related to fluvial geomorphology.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory/resource agencies, and local governments
  • Lead/assist with client management, project management, and business development
  • Review and evaluate technical reports and plans of proposed projects
  • Support marketing efforts and client development

You will have some or all of the below qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or engineering with emphasis in fluvial geomorphology (master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple disciplines and tasks for technically complex projects
  • Prior Experience as the Lead Fluvial Geomorphologist on projects; responsible for leading geomorphic assessments, analyses and projections on a variety of small and large scale river projects
  • Experience performing geomorphic technical work for fish passage barrier removal and other stream restoration projects
  • Sediment transport modeling and sediment collection experience
  • GIS experience for geomorphic and water resources analysis
  • Strong technical writing and speaking skills
  • Strong work ethic and desire for team success
  • Licensed Geologist or Professional Engineer in the State of Washington
  • Experience providing professional services to a variety of sectors, with experience on a variety of engineering and environmental projects
  • You must be collaborative, thorough, and well organized
