Hiring hourly range: $28 - $30 (hourly/salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, however, various hours may be required based on business demand.

As a General Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for daily support activities, including:

  • Performs minor inspection duties of work performed or general building condition under the direction of a supervisor of a skilled trades’ person.

  • Perform a variety of repair and tasks while directly assisting trades personnel including and not limited to replacing floor tile, light bulbs, painting, patching, and drywall repairs.

  • preventative maintenance on equipment, pressure washing, locker, sheet metal, and tile repair.

  • Replacement both ceiling and ceramic bathroom tile

  • Operates various equipment to perform woodwork, furniture, and flooring.

  • Efficient and safe use of hand tools as required.

  • Cleans worksites, including hauling of debris and trash to the dumpster, cleaning tools and equipment and ensuring tools, materials and equipment are stored properly.

  • Inspects and identifies facilities equipment in need of repair.

  • Performs miscellaneous repair, maintenance construction, general installation, and preventative maintenance work under the direction of Supervisor or skilled trades’ person.

  • Make regular inspection rounds of buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment.

  • Checks for appearance and cleanliness, structural cracks, excessive wear, and faulty parts.

  • Complying with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

  • All work to be scheduled and completed from a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

As the General Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to:

Communication

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint

  • Ability to communicate clearly via phone

  • Ability to work closely with customer during site emergencies.

  • Excellent oral and written communications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, i.e., listening to customer needs, articulating path forward and giving solutions that provide value to the customer, etc.

  • Accurately document electronic and paper cataloging system to provide information to customer or regulatory personnel.

  • Strive for quick complaint resolution; to resolve problems on the first call and avoid escalation of issues through operational knowledge.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years’ maintenance experience in one of the following trades or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience:  General Construction, Painting, General Maintenance

  • In addition to education/experience, 3 years of progressive career experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or research & development facility maintenance.

  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for several types of respirators.

  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

  • Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.

  • Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Some physical/special requirements include:

  • Regularly lift to 50 lbs

  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding

  • Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement

  • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift

  • Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions

  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Technical degree preferred.

  • Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical or pharmaceutical campuses

  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.

  • Experience working with heavy industrial or manufacturing plant steam systems, centrifugal chillers, air handling units, turbines, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, pneumatic controls, and building automation control systems.

  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus.

  • Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
