POSITION PURPOSE This Food Service Worker 2 position is responsible for supporting the Don James Center Training Table with food preparation, cooking, buffet setup, and assisting with leadership of a dynamic culinary team in production of high-quality meals for UW athletes. Providing nutrition to power performance, this position plays an important role in supporting nutritionally optimal meals for athletes and coaches.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Participate in and lead employees in food preparation, serving and/or dishwashing. • Set up station, stock/restock, and rotate supplies according to established plans, par levels and food handling policies and procedures. • Assign student, hourly or Food Service Workers 1 and students to meet production and service needs. • Take and record food preparation and holding temperatures before the food leaves the production area and during service. • Maintain records of foods produced, foods wasted, and any recipe adjustments for the Supervisor. • Report safety issues and equipment malfunctions to management. • Use production sheets from CBORD FSS to execute food preparation. • Check par levels and order as needed to ensure that station is properly stocked. • Ensure that all foods and wares are cleaned, wrapped and/or properly stored at the close of service. • Gather, assemble, package and serve menu items to customer order. • Take inventory counts using tally sheets from CBORD FSS system. • Participate in cleaning the kitchen work spaces, tables and equipment using sanitizing solutions as needed. • May receive customer orders, answering questions about ingredients, recipes and pricing. • May prepare specialty beverages to customer order. • May operate point of sale systems, keying in sales, taking payments and making change; account for receipts at the end of the work shift. • Perform related duties as requested.

POSITION DIMESIONS The position is an eleven-point-five-month cyclic position that works January through mid-December. While staff are hired into specific positions, they may be reassigned to a different unit or schedule with two weeks of notice.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage or equivalent education/experience.

CONDITITONS OF EMPLOYMENT • A satisfactory outcome from the employment verification and reference check processes. • Maintenance of a valid Washington State Food Worker Card.
