This role is a part of New Shepard, a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Karman line - the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space! As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will support the design, development, and test of fluid systems for the New Shepard human spaceflight vehicle. You will participate in the entire design cycle of fluid subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing, and qualification. You will generate 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents. You will perform assembly and test of development and flight hardware including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis. Finally, you will develop component specifications, manage suppliers, and provide manufacturing and production support. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 1 years aerospace industry experience or internship experience in relevant industries Basic proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo or Pro/E preferred) Experience in structural analysis including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS preferred) Proven understanding of common aerospace materials, surface treatments, and fasteners Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pressurized cryogenic fluid systems, valves, manifolds, fittings, tubing, quick disconnects and seals Experience with thermodynamics, fluid flow, or heat transfer analysis Experience with safety evaluations and operation of pressurized test hardware Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5) Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $89,820---$125,748 USD Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
