Blue Origin LLC Fluid Systems Valve Design Engineer III - New Glenn in Seattle, Washington

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will work on the design, analysis, development, and qualification of the next generation of valves for use on the New Glenn rocket. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of detailed mechanical design, requirements, layouts, analysis, component selection, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, and test definition. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent 5+ years of proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems (Senior Career) Experience in aerospace valve design Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to analyze pressurized systems and secondary structures (ANSYS preferred) Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) Solid understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent Experience designing systems with Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Methane in liquid and/or gaseous states Experience designing systems with Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Methane in liquid and/or gaseous states Experience in system layout or component design for launch vehicle or ground cryogenic and pressure systems Experience with thermo-fluid solver applications Thermal Desktop (Sinda Fluint), AFT (Fathom/Arrow), Excel based models, REFPROP Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $102,383-$143,335 Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $111,690-$156,366 Compensation range for on site CA applicants is $111,690-$156,366 Other site ranges may differ Proven understanding of materials properties and treatments; preference for aerospace materials Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems Experience in all phases of integrating routed fluid systems in ground base or flight vehicle applications Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC) related to fluid components, machined parts, weldments, and electro-mechanical assemblies Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
