UW Medicine Patient Financial Access Services – Finance Access Clearance Team (FACT) has an outstanding opportunity for a FINANCIAL ACCESS SPECIALIST SUPVERVISOR. WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE (40 hours per week)
Mondays - Fridays; 8:0am - 4:30pm
Day Shift
Primarily 100% remote with occasional on-site assignments at UWM based on operational or training needs. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The FACT department coordinates the insurance clearance process for Inpatient planned and unplanned admits, for Outpatient Surgery, Clinic Procedures, high dollar Infusion, and/or Radiology high dollar Procedures, as well as, various functions associated with obtaining and verifying the insurance coverage and benefits for facility and professional services.
Our team values excellent customer service, timely response, accurate authorization, and courteous processing of calls. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Review resumes, conduct interviews, perform reference checks, and recommend candidate selection
Train and support new hire development
Set clear productivity standards and expectations for direct reports
Manage staffing assignments to ensure adequate daily coverage
Monitor performance of direct reports and complete annual evaluations
Implement corrective action plans as necessary
Conduct daily team huddles and weekly/monthly meetings to improve business
Address direct report leave requests per union contracts and departmental policies
Attend education and trainings sessions as identified and assigned through the ERC Leadership Development Program
Develop and implement corrective action processes and plans as needed
Review and approve direct report timecards
Maintain departmental personnel desk files
Communicate changes in insurance eligibility, benefits, payer policies, and appeals
Resolve issues with third-party payers, billing, denials, and service authorizations REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Four years of experience as a Financial Access Specialist
