Job Description

Join the Nordstrom Financial Center of Excellence team as the COE Planning Manager and be the critical driver of driving the Anaplan and Data capabilities at Nordstrom! You will be the key capability partner connecting many business functions in Finance to champion the use of finance systems & automated reporting in financial planning. You will lead a team of anaplan model builders and business intelligence analysts to support our financial planning and close reporting.

This role is Hybrid in Seattle, WA, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, and Denver, CO

Responsibilities:

  • Manages team of 3 – 5 direct reports responsible for Anaplan & Reporting development.

  • Provides strong leadership including coaching, developing, and monitoring individual and team performance goals, and driving major change initiatives.

  • Prepares comprehensive technical direction, implementation tactics, including execution plans, resource allocation plans, and process in the implementation of large-scale projects.

  • Directs and prioritizes large, highly complex business planning projects by monitoring deliverables and milestones, including developing contingencies to minimize risks and maximize impact.

  • Provides innovative thought leadership and continuous improvement to maximize team productivity.

  • Develops relationships with Leaders outside of the COE to understand strategic business needs and development of short term/long term development plans.

  • Partner with extended BI/IT teams on data integration and automation.

  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach to development, configuration, and maintenance to deliver technical solutions for business problems.

  • Own the design, development, maintenance, and automation of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.

  • Develop and support ongoing Finance System user training to ensure all users understand the application capabilities and leverage system capabilities to deliver the optimal user experience to the Finance team.

  • Draft and maintain Finance System & Data Governance policies, procedures, and other documentation to ensure uniform, accurate, and consistent data and processes.

  • Create, maintain, and enhance financial models, driving improvements to budgeting and forecasting accuracy.

Experience Required:

  • 3+ years experience Anaplan as a model builder or solutions architect (Level 3 Certified)

  • 3+ years previous people leadership experience

  • 3+ years of experience in visualization tools such Tableau or power BI

  • 3+ years of experience in SQL including ETL & Advanced SQL

  • 2+ years of experience with financial planning

  • 1+ years of experience with project implementation

  • 3+ years operating in agile environment

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated anaplan model building or solutions architect experience (required)

  • Demonstrated SQL and Tableau experience (required)

  • Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently.

  • Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently manage complex objectives.

  • Superior business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in finance systems and data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including advanced negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.

  • Excellent project management skills, including time and risk management, and project structuring.

  • Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.

  • Advanced leadership skills, including coaching, team building, conflict resolution, and career management.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

California: $90,000 - $187,500 Annually, Colorado: $90,000 - $150,000 Annually, Washington: $90,000 - $175,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
