Amazon Finance Manager, Sustainability Finance, Worldwide Sustainability Finance in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Worldwide Sustainability Finance team is responsible for supporting Amazon's Climate Pledge goals to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2040 and 100% Renewable Energy by 2025.

Key job responsibilities

• Serve as main Finance point of contact for the carbon footprint and related reporting for actuals and long term forecasts

• Manage and provide controllership on the use of financial data in Amazon’s carbon footprint

• Support ESG regulatory reporting

• Work in a changing ambiguous environment

In this role, you will bring a high level of controllership and ownership to Amazon’s carbon footprint. You will work with business partners in Sustainability as well as in business Finance functions around Amazon to ensure the accuracy of our carbon footprint and help facilitate the onboarding of improved scientific estimation models. You will support regulatory reporting and work with contacts around Accounting and Finance to ensure that carbon data is treated with the same level of controllership and rigor that financial data is treated with.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
