AWS Services Finance seeks a Finance Manager to join the EC2 Capacity and CapEx team, responsible for new product planning/analysis and controllership on CapEx spend. This position will work closely with finance and business leadership as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including Product Managers, Capacity Management, Supply Chain, Forecasting, and Economists to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the EC2 business. He or she will have the opportunity to lead and influence multiple, high-visibility aspects of managing EC2 capacity including long-term planning, operational controllership, capital efficiency analysis, and ongoing capital reporting and analysis. Additional responsibilities include ad-hoc business analysis support. This role requires a self-starter with strong financial modeling abilities, robust problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong ownership, curiosity, passion for diving deep, and a desire to learn are ideal fits for this role.

Key job responsibilities

• Own and drive controllership of EC2 capital spending (server rack acquisition planning and approval, new product launch footprint, material commits etc.)

• Own New Product Capacity and CapEx forecast, developing financial insights and narratives during planning and reporting cycles

• Serve as the key finance partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations

• Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and developing new processes and controls to support the fast-growing, global AWS business

• Build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance and work with Tech teams to drive automation.

• Understand hardware generational changes and general business economics to develop financial models.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

• 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

• 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

• MBA, or CPA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
