Job Description

The Program Manager will report to the Engineering Services department under the umbrella of the JWN Facilities team and will have full accountability & ownership of the reliability-based program for all business units (Store, Corporate, and Supply Chain). This position is responsible for developing a sustainable reliability program and leading the process in a manner that will have a direct impact on equipment safety, efficiency, uptime, quality, cost management, customer satisfaction, innovation, and ultimately profitability for JWN. The successful candidate for this position shall focus on establishing, developing, owning, and driving standard maintenance/reliability programs and practices that will focus on building world-class equipment reliability. This role will partner with the PMO team to develop and implement training strategies to increase skill sets across the JWN facilities network.

The robust program may include but is not limited to Material Handling Equipment (MHE), mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in multiple locations within larger buildings (stores, corporate buildings, and supply chain buildings). Depending on the assignment at hand, the coverage may include engagement of contractors, providing directions for other facilities staff, and many other facets.

A day in the life…

  • Develop, implement, and own strategies that will improve current maintenance practices and processes driving better (100%) equipment uptime, lower repair costs, and lower material inventory levels/costs.

  • Promote network standard and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) subject matter experts to develop reliability efforts through enhanced communication and best practice sharing.

  • Partner with Facilities Managers to coordinate maintenance activities in support of driving World Class Maintenance within JWN Facilities.

  • Own and regularly respond with subject matter expertise to maintenance/equipment-related questions, own access to and distribution of OEM technical bulletin updates and facilitate strong communication with OEM vendors.

  • Work with MC program managers to leverage the value of our MC computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, planned/predictive maintenance, spare parts inventory/sharing, MRO management, and maintenance history of the equipment.

  • Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance-related metrics / KPIs.

  • Develop, own, and deliver comprehensive maintenance and reliability training to maintenance resources in conjunction with Business Performance/Continuous improvement manager.

  • Through analytical tools, work with other departments within JWN/Asset Program Manager to identify equipment end of life (EOL) opportunities, required equipment, and process upgrades and guide through long-term capital investment plans for facilities.

  • Project execution support within existing structures and/or new buildings which may include Electrical infrastructure upgrade, Generators removal and installation plan, building switchgear guidance and installation, building distribution panels, safety, Fire Life Safety – Systems, Air Compressors maintenance and installation, Waste Handling Equipment, Power Industrial Truck Equipment (PIT), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), MHE controls and Mechanical/ Electrical/ Plumbing (MEP)

  • Develop and implement strategic reliability program around critical assets like Vertical Transportation – Elevators, Escalators, VRC (vertical reciprocating conveyor), Dock equipment/Maxx Reach.

  • Analyze equipment downtime data, and develop and manage warranty processes that will drive OEM uptime and lower costs.

  • Develop maintenance benchmarking data / KPIs to drive improvements amongst like sites within the Supply Chain network, stores, and corporate.

Other Essential Functions / Duties:

  • Coordinate reliability-based activities with all JWN facilities’ equipment service providers and ensure service providers are meeting JWN facilities equipment operating/maintenance standards based on established KPIs.

  • Implementation of performance metrics and engagement in business reviews with service providers, as needed.

  • Uses Reliability Centered Maintenance principles to establish and optimize maintenance strategies for assets.

  • Analyzes asset data to determine the most effective Preventative/Predictive Maintenance program to minimize asset failures and maximum overall maintenance effectiveness at multiple facilities within JWN facilities departments.

  • Communications with all team members to support the development of new site planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Ensure team members perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.

  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, and being able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.

  • Provides technical assistance to the facility managers across JWN facilities departments.

  • Reviews goals and KPIs related to Preventative Maintenance and Maintenance Resource Utilization, guiding improvement opportunities.

  • Performs asset failure investigations to reduce asset downtime utilizing reliability methodologies and tools.

You’ve got this if…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business or other related engineering degree OR 7+ years of equivalent professional or military experience.

  • Experience in MEP, HVAC, Reliability Centered Maintenance, with electrical theory, Robotics, Controls components, automated equipment

  • Knowledge of equipment, systems, and processes such as electrical/instrumentation, piping, valves, pumps, the material of construction, fire detection and controls, material handling equipment, and building/structure maintenance.

  • Extensive experience working with typical industrial facility equipment (assets) including pumps, motors, valves, fans, material handling equipment, tanks, and piping. Also has experience with instrumentation and electrical equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working with typical industrial facility equipment (assets) including pumps, motors, valves, fans, material handling equipment, tanks, and piping. Also has experience with instrumentation and electrical equipment.

  • Experience in Industrial or Retail Facilities Management

  • Systems integration experience.

  • Experience supporting a wide range of different conveyors and sortation systems, including SDI, Dematic, and Intelligrated/Honeywell.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: 92,000.00 - 155,000.00 annual

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
