Ford Motor Company Expert Cloud Software Engineer in Seattle, Washington

• As a Principal Cloud Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, building, and operating cloud systems which power Ford customer experiences.

• Strategic product visions as you lead different teams to deliver innovative secure solutions for our customers.

• This will involve developing long term strategies and roadmaps in software architecture form in vehicle to in cloud that meet business goals, optimize design implementations while identifying risk scenarios and mitigation plans.

What you'll do...

• Perform application architecture and lead white board sessions.

• Develop multi-cloud SpringBoot/Java API/microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with Test Driven Development, and automated continuous integration and continuous deployment.

• Take high level strategic objectives and work across the organization to drive a mission through all stages of definition, scoping and delivery.

• Drive the prioritization of customer centric decisions and to be focal point for critical decisions across domains.

• Encourage a continuous improvement mentality, passionate about implementing software craftsmanship, promoting good design while managing technical debt and reducing security vulnerabilities.

• Extremely active in professional development of code, also have things implemented through production, along with mobilizing with others to initiate the changes.

• Should focus on improving up deployment process, application performance, stability and reliability, along with performance and capacity planning.

• Define a viable high-level plan supporting the organization’s technical and strategic goals. Demonstrate comfort in speculation, while being comfortable working in the unknown. Demonstrate creativity in developing alternatives, while considering strategic and tactical tradeoffs when making business decisions.

• Remain current on most sophisticated technologies that shall impact our business.

• Support business and cycle planning activities to enable future investments.

• Champion the highest engineering, architecture, and security standards for Ford.

• Outstanding talent in being able to develop long term strategies, set priorities and work under pressure.

• Lead all aspects of ongoing product design and architecture, including definitions, key results, customer commitments, and direct interaction with product teams.

You'll have…

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field

  • 5+ years of progressive responsibilities in cloud-based technically aligned functions

  • 5+ years experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-based solutions using Java Springboot

  • 5+ years experience with underlying application programming interface (API) methods for systems integrations/data exchange.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s degree desirable

  • Knowledge of security considerations and how to implement them in cloud-based software solutions.
