Amazon Event Marketing & Partnerships Manager , Undiscovered and Small Business Accelerator (USBA) in Seattle, Washington

As part of the Undiscovered and Small Business Accelerator (USBA), Amazon has committed $150 million to empower Black entrepreneurs through the Black Business Accelerator (BBA), which provides access to educational, financial and advisory resources that support Black-owned business owners to succeed as sellers in Amazon’s store. We are seeking an accomplished event marketing leader to bring the USBA/BBA brand to life at our selling partner events with responsibilities across community, partnership and owned events.

The right candidate will have a track record of leading a team of event marketing managers and program managers to build comprehensive event marketing strategies for owned and industry events with the ability to focus on the selling partner experience and their integration into our events. This role will have end-to-end ownership of programming for events and will also include social media integration. This person should be creative, results oriented, relentlessly focused on the customer, and push to uphold high standards for brand building and marketing execution for our selling partner events. In this role, the candidate will work with the USBA Integrated Marketing and Communications Leader to define and roll out a refreshed ROI model tied to Events, develop a comprehensive calendar year event strategy and partner with the event marketing team to deliver events that are executed at a high bar, while also driving innovation and cultural relevancy for our selling partners.

Success in this role requires having a passion for Small Businesses, as well as a strong backbone, great communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to deal with a significant amount of ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities

• Partner with a team of event marketing managers and program managers; support efforts to set the strategy and long-term thinking of the team

• Define event goals and timelines related to key deliverables and communicate those expectations to stakeholders

• Work closely with senior leaders to understand key messaging and roadmaps to build successful event activations across a multitude of events

• Own the measurement of event programming and content, and associated KPIs

• Serve as an internal advocate for customer needs; ensure broad awareness of, and empathy for, customer pain points

• Track and manage event budgets

• Be the voice of the team across multiple layers of the organization

• Partner with Integrated Marketing Communications Leader to drive multi-year planning activities

• Partner to develop and distribute key post event reporting, working to establish core event marketing mechanisms

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience managing teams

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

  • Experience owning event program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.

  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines.

  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships, which would include internal communications, public relations and Pan-Amazon teams.

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strategy development: formulating event marketing strategies aligned with overall business and marketing objectives

  • Content development and management: responsible for event content, and management of stakeholders from cross functional partners to speakers

  • Budget management: developing and managing budgets for events, optimizing costs while delivering impactful experiences

  • Vendor Management: identifying, negotiating with, and managing relationships with event vendors and partners

  • Event Planning: overseeing the end-to-end planning and logistics and content of events in partnership with broader team

  • Promotion and Outreach: Creating promotional strategies to drive attendance, collaborating on marketing materials, and utilizing various channels for event outreach

  • Analysis and Reporting: measuring the success of events through post-event analysis, gathering feedback, and providing insights for continuous improvement

  • Brand Representation: Ensuring events reflect and enhance the brand image, fostering positive associations with attendees

  • Adaptability: staying updated on industry trends, technologies, and event best practices to bring innovation to the event marketing strategy.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
