POSITION SUMMARY * Perform inspections and tests of electrical equipment to determine compliance with applicable codes and standards. Position may be mentally demanding, requiring concentration in multiple projects and activities simultaneously. RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform various engineering tasks such as equipment labeling inspections, equipment testing, and writing inspection reports that assist in product installation approval by the electrical inspection jurisdiction having authority. * Determine applicable standards for unique or specially built equipment. * Perform equipment-labeling projects consistent with recognized industry and international standards, local jurisdiction requirements and Company procedures. * May perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems. * Actively participate in professional organizations, such as IAEI. QUALIFICATIONS * Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards. * Good theoretical understanding of electrical power systems. * Able to write detailed reports with few changes. * Good research and analytical skills. * Communicate effectively, writing and verbally, with clients, peers, management and manufacturer's personnel. * Basic computer skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research. * Good judgment, dependable, responsible for large projects, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining positive relationships with clients and local jurisdiction. * Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work. Must be available for out-of-town and international travel of up to several weeks. * Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk and hear.
