Amazon ESG Program Manager in Seattle, Washington

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

In line with our Leadership Principle, Success and Scale Bring Broad Responsibility, our vision is for AWS to enable the world in solving environmental and social challenges through the power of digital technology. We strive to create more than we consume, to provide the cleanest cloud infrastructure and services, and become the cloud provider of choice for builders who share our commitment to a sustainable future for people and the planet. The AWS Global Sustainability Customer Strategic Engagement (CSE) team builds scalable mechanisms to make relevant AWS environmental, social and governance (ESG) data accessible to customers, and looks around corners to anticipate future customer's ESG needs.

The role of our ESG Program Manager will provide hands-on support to execute our sustainability data center transparency strategy. There is room to grow in this role and we are looking for candidates who not only can dive deep data, subject-matter and processes in order to simplify, but also propose and implement new programs of work to serve our customers at scale.

Key job responsibilities

• Single threaded owner of several established mechanisms which enable CSE to interact and support internal and external customers with sustainability inquiries, including third-party rankings and ratings

• Drive continual process improvement to streamline operation of established mechanisms, increase efficiency and improve customer experience

• Work across business partner teams including AWS Infrastructure, Legal, Public Relations and WW Sustainability to influence priorities and drive alignment to increase the content and effectiveness of customer-facing mechanisms

• Write documents that work backwards from the customer which consider varying needs of customers across different teams and regions, and translate the desired customer experience into a roadmap

• Create and execute plans to deliver cross-functional programs and initiatives that look around corners for customers and anticipate their needs across environmental and social topics as they pertain to data center operations.

• Establish cadence and governance structure to ensure timely and meaningful review of progress against goals with cross-functionality business partner teams
