Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Planner to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for leading environmental planning tasks and projects including Environmental Impact Statements, comprehensive plans, permitting, and more across a variety of areas including solid waste, transportation, and restoration. You will also be collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high quality deliverables and stellar client service.

In this role we will count on you to:

  • Effectively communicate with staff, clients, and teaming partners and act as a trusted professional
  • Prepare and manage NEPA and SEPA documents and supporting plans
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to develop environmental planning documents potentially including comprehensive plans, land use plans, and climate adaptation and resiliency plans
  • Draft regulatory compliance reports and technical memos
  • Support permitting efforts for natural resources and the built environment
  • Assist in the development and refinement of proposals
  • Research and apply jurisdictional requirements, codes, and policies
  • Adhere to and drive QA/QC processes and programs
  • Interface with clients, attend project and public meetings, and participate in interviews
  • Develop community engagement plans

Other duties you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with internal experts in engineering, science, landscape architecture, data analysis, and GIS

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Experience, & Licensure/Certifications

  • 8+ years of experience in environmental planning
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental studies, urban planning, or similar area of focus

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Strong project management, business development, and analytical skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort speaking at public meetings and conveying complex information understandably to different audiences

Strong interpersonal and conflict-management skills

Creative and dogged approach to problem-solving

Impeccable follow-through
