The Enterprise Product Security Engineering (PSE) Organization is seeking a mission-oriented Enterprise Product Security Engineering Software Capability Manager to oversee the implementation of software assurance best practices into the secure development lifecycle of various key programs. You will be responsible for organizing, equipping, developing, and leading a skill team of Product Security Software Engineers as they execute against a portfolio of programs, services, and support.
Boeing PSE is responsible, for the integrated system cyber security, resiliency, and safety of Boeing’s products and services, inclusive of software products. In this role, you will be responsible for Enterprise PSE Software capability teams that are deployed and accountable to program business facing engineering teams and programs. You will ensure that our engineers and analysts are ready and able to deliver secure and resilient products and services to our customers. You will be the champion for PSE Software across the Core Engineering team and our supported programs and partners, ensuring the success of programs across business units and divisions. You will coordinate multiple engagements concurrently, to ensure the successful engineering integration, workforce strategy, technical excellence, and overall operations of PSE for business partners.
In this role you will support and work across both development environments, software product, and delivered operational production environments. You will help scope and coordinate the business needs to develop and deliver these products and environments, and you will drive the successful execution through project management practices. You will ensure first time quality through ensuring proper operational rigor is maintained and ensuring your team maintains currency in governance, training, and skills. Furthermore, your efforts will directly inform our Enterprise PSE team and strategy with lessons learned, technology, and solutions, that directly enhances our commercial and defense offerings. You will be a part of Boeing's growing Enterprise PSE organization, which is a multi-disciplinary cybersecurity engineering organization that is responsible for the cyber security and resiliency of our products, platforms, and services. You will have multiple responsibilities across the life-cycle of programs and products, including the design and development of next generation systems. Product Security Engineers and Leaders are working across Boeing, to jointly develop best practices, techniques and tools, and a diverse technical community to draw upon to deliver best value to our customers and adapting language from our agreement within software.
This position can sit out of Seattle WA, Berkeley MO, El Segundo CA, Arlington VA, Colorado Springs CO, Huntsville AL, or Oklahoma City OK.
Position Responsibilities:
Managing execution of program security capabilities, software attestation, and software assurance artifacts
Working with programs and products across BDS divisions, BCA, and BGS
Driving secure coding activities, vulnerability assessments, and threat modeling
Hiring and developing top talent for current and anticipated programs and product lines
Engineering leader for ensuring engineering integrity, first time quality and efficient execution of Product Security activities
Decomposing high-level Statement-of-Work into Staffing and Basis-of-Estimates for engineering support
This critical position will leverage and benefit from experience in:
Tactical project or program activity planning & execution;
Risk, Issue, and Opportunity triage and management;
Organizational and leadership skills focusing on the execution of engineering teams;
Experience with DevSecOps, and the Secure Software Development Lifecycle;
Application of product cybersecurity engineering, delivering on commitments;
Multi-disciplinary engineering & analysis including Software Development Lifecycle; and
Talent Management.
Successful candidates are highly motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, inter-personal, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and effectively with customers and subcontractors in a multi-site and multi-discipline program and environment.

Leading or supporting program/project planning and execution
Planning, executing, and leading the execution of a multi-discipline engineering related activity, in a team environment
Engineering-project team leadership or management
Developing and delivering technical solutions for products and systems
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years experience within DecSecOps, cyber security, software engineering, or information systems
5+ years experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
Preferred Qualifications(Desired Skills/Experience):
Applied Engineering as individual or leading a team, on multiple programs and/or business areas, delivering on commitments
Avionics and embedded system architecture, design, development and test
Experience with DFARS, CNSSI 1253, NIST 800-171, DO-356A, etc.
Engineering Team and personnel management
Supporting or leading proposals
Establishing and adapting engineering teams or organizations
Use of Model Based Engineering tools, such as CAMEO, and the application of relevant markup languages such as UML and SysML
Using Development – Security – Operations (DevSecOps) relevant tools and methodologies
Understanding and experience in systems and/or software engineering, including:
Development of Architecture, Requirements, Concepts of Operations, and Use Cases
Development of Hardware and Software products
Integration and Unit Test
Verification and Validation
Testing, including Acceptance and Fielding Tests

Summary pay range min to max: $164,000 to $224,000
