Description

Amazon Freight is looking for an entrepreneurial and data minded sales leader to take on a new leadership role in our growing startup. In the role of Regional Sales and Operations Leader, you will be responsible for serving as a general manager over the Western region of the Amazon Freight business. You will lead teams of sales account executives and operations managers responsible for managing the active business of our largest enterprise accounts. You will focus on building and scaling your team as we expand our business. Defining how your teams operate to achieve sustainable growth objectives while delivering a world class customer experience.

Amazon Freight is a new startup business within Amazon, focused on externalizing Amazon's logistics capabilities as an asset-based brokerage that offers B2B transportation services to enterprise customers. If you have experience leading business units and/or sales organizations in the transportation space then this may be the role for you. As a startup business, you will have the ability to shape the strategic direction of the business while watching your ideas become reality as you implement and scale strategies across the business.

This role is designed for a highly collaborative leader with an ability to create and implement an organizational vision, solve highly complex problems, innovate and design new solutions, and deliver against aggressive revenue, profitability, and service goals.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of our business strategy.

  • Own revenue and profitability targets as part of the broader Amazon freight P&L.

  • Build and lead a high-performance matrixed team across sales and operations.

  • Develop and measure KPIs to assess team performance and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Work closely with pricing, sales operations, product, partnership, and other leaders to achieve shared success.

  • Define vision for product capabilities needed to deliver against strategic business plan.

  • Build team goals and incentive structures to drive business outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • A hands on leader who is able to operate at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience leading commercial and operations teams in the transportation and logistics space.

  • Experience owning a P&L and exceeding financial target KPIs as a business unit leader.

  • 10+ years of experience leading business verticals/functions accountable for driving business performance.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with highly matrixed teams.

  • Exceptional project and program management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent.

  • Direct experience leading a freight brokerage or asset based sales and operations organization in TL, LTL, or Intermodal

  • Experience building and leading large organizations with multiple functional roles

  • Strength in leading by influence with an ability to inspire and align stakeholders to achieve a specific goal.

  • Comfortable working in a deeply collaborative, technical, and startup minded organization.

  • Strong analytical background with a passion for data analysis.

  • Experience working with Product and Tech teams to drive improvements in business performance.

  • Advanced knowledge of experimentation strategies.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $154,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $288,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
