Structural Engineer - KPFF's Special Projects Group is seeking a full-time STRUCTURAL ENGINEER. The offices of KPFF's Special Projects Group are seeking qualified Structural Engineers that are ready to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to be directly involved in a wide variety of challenging projects including port developments, marine engineering, ferry terminals, shipyards, fish & wildlife facilities, naval facilities, small boat marinas, municipal structures, floating structures, and design-build infrastructure. We are looking for self-motivated people who are eager to develop design and project management skills and who are passionate about providing exceptional client service. Structural Engineers within KPFF's Special Projects Group enjoy the freedom of being the prime consultant on most of our projects. We use a holistic approach to project management that requires you as the Structural Engineer to not just provide structural engineering services, but to SOLVE your client's PROBLEM. This approach puts you in the role of project manager and allows you to see the big picture on every project. This is a rewarding and enjoyable place to be, giving you direct access to the client and owner. Ideal Qualifications Include:

  • BS in Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis)
  • MS in Civil Engineering preferred (with a structural emphasis)
  • PE is required, SE preferred
  • Concrete, steel, and timber design experience
  • Pre-stressed concrete and seismic design experience
  • Familiarity with performance-based seismic design, non-linear push-over analysis, and soil-structure interaction analysis
  • Knowledge of ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS
  • Proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, MS Excel, and VBA is preferred
  • Ability to work dynamically with clients and project team members
  • An interest in working on a wide variety of non-building related project types
