Sirius Computer Solutions Engineer - Networking in Seattle, Washington


Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to integrate and deliver a wide range of technology solutions to clients. This role works in a quality, professional manner to complete project responsibilities on time and on budget, resulting in high customer satisfaction. This position may also provide pre-sales support, customer support and direct quality assurance for all projects deliverables.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installs, implements, maintains, upgrades, and troubleshoots Cisco Networking Solutions, and client infrastructure solutions in general; transferring technical skills and knowledge to client through work logs.

  • Performs research, problem solving, technical support, and general maintenance of client relationship

  • Performs overall solution Quality Assurance (QA) tasks for all projects delivered against assigned project deliverables while ensuring they are in alignment with the project scope and SOW (Statement of Work).

  • Performs basic project coordination duties for assigned projects to include providing implementation/migration planning to client, knowing and meeting client timetable, coordinating vendor installations, etc. Facilitates communication between product team members.

  • Monitors and reports status of project efforts, anticipates, and identifies issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implements corrective actions

  • Develops and reviews basic technical manuals for standard install processes that are directly related to specialization and discipline on the job

  • Supports bill of materials, quotations and technical responses to Request of Quotation (RFQs) & Request for Information (RFIs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs)

  • Ensures scheduling accuracy and complies with all time compliance and time entry guidelines

  • Adheres to and remains mindful of project profitability

  • Meets billable utilization targets

  • Provides guidance to less experienced technical team members

  • Develops reusable assets (templates, tools, etc) for the Infrastructure practice

  • Provides technical perspective to ensure a realistic estimation of scope, cost and level of effort for proposal generation.

  • Training/Certifications: Attends training sessions, and obtains industry related certifications as determined by management

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field

  • At least three (3) years of IT engineering experience dealing with infrastructure solutions in a specified Sirius practice (Networking, Converged Infrastructure/Storage, etc), including at least three (3) years hands-on experience with Cisco route/switch

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP)

  • Experience with one or more of the following: WLAN, DNA (Digital Network Architecture), Identity Services Engine (ISE) – Wired and Wireless, Firewalls, LAN – Catalyst switches, Data Center – Nexus switches, WAN routers, Branch routers, Site Surveys, APs and Controllers, Firewalls – Sourcefire, Firepower, VPNs

  • Relevant certifications in area of technical specialty

  • Consulting experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project estimation and scoping experience

Essential Functions

The position exists to provide technical consulting solutions to customers a nd as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis
