Description

Amazon Ads is seeking a customer-obsessed Email Channel Manager to own the strategy, governance, and overall excellence for our key email programs. This role will be instrumental in ensuring Amazon Ads email programs that regularly reach 4M+ customers deliver high-quality, helpful experiences. In this high-impact role, you will define the governance and standards for key email programs, create and maintain the execution process/mechanisms to enforce these standards at scale, and partner cross-functionally to continuously raise the bar on email customer experience. You will be accountable for the performance of your programs, tracking and analyzing key metrics such as engagement, customer sentiment/VoC, and deliverability. Using data-driven insights, you will influence the decisions and priorities of a wide, diverse range of stakeholders, including Marketing, Product, Measurement, and Engineering.

The successful candidate will have strong experience building and optimizing high-performing marketing programs, particularly related to email. You should be able to work both strategically (building comprehensive plans that align resources and activities towards your goals) and tactically (managing martech, creating process, analyzing data, removing blockers). Top-tier problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering results in ambiguous environments are essential for this role.

Key job responsibilities

Own end-to-end channel governance and overall excellence of key email programs

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for email programs that work back from the customer experience

  • Continually evolve this strategy to meet the changing needs of our customers, business, and partners

  • Establish guardrails, processes, and mechanisms to ensure high-quality, scalable email program operations and performance

Define, test, and scale best-in-class customer experiences

  • Design, test, and implement innovative customer experiences across email

  • Continually raise the bar for the customer experience by establishing strong standards and processes

  • Drive the launch of new processes and solutions to enhance the customer experience

Collaborate cross-functionally

  • Partner with Marketing and UX teams to define best-in-class email customer experiences across ad products, features, customer cohorts, and other use cases

  • Partner with Product, Measurement, and Engineering teams to implement operations and governance that is scalable and efficient while holding a high quality bar

  • Work closely with Analytics teams to create and optimize performance reporting, understand trends, and identify negative customer experiences

  • Influence priorities and decisions across multiple stakeholder teams

Measure and optimize email program performance

  • Track and analyze critical performance metrics like engagement, customer sentiment, and deliverability

  • Use performance reporting to continually uncover key insights and identify customer paint points and opportunities

  • Leverage findings to continuously optimize the customer experience and make strategic decisions

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion

  • Experience building and optimizing multiple, simultaneous marketing campaigns

  • Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in multi-territory campaign management

  • Experience in digital marketing and content production timelines and process

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $151,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
