Assess, design, implement and evaluate instructional programs, and facilitate post-discharge placement for hospitalized children and youths in order to fulfill Children’s annual school services contract with OSPI and Seattle School District.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of one year teaching experience in public or independent school setting

Required Credentials:

  • Current WA State Teaching Certificate

  • Prior to the start of employment, individuals are required to submit a copy of a receipt directly to Human Resources (electronically) confirming they have completed the fingerprinting process as outlined by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)

Preferred:

  • Experience working as school counselor

  • Experience working in a mental health setting

  • Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team

  • Special education endorsement with experience teaching in a special education setting

  • Three years teaching experience

  • Familiarity with special education practices and state and federal regulations for this population of students
