Blue Origin LLC (Early Career) Guidance, Navigation & Controls Engineer I - Intern Conversion in Seattle, Washington

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Applies standard engineering methods for the design, development, and verification of data collection and control systems used in either flight component testing or ground launch support facilities. This requires the development and release of artifacts following the facility lifecycle plan as well maintaining configuration management of operational systems. Applies standard engineering techniques to design, develop, and maintain instrumentation or controls systems. Automates manufacturing or similar processes through the use of instrumentation or controls systems. Develops new and modifies existing PLC or HMI applications, interfaces, or embedded controls. Participates in set-up and commissioning of new facilities or upgrading of existing facilities. Troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions and makes recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations. Documents specifications and operating procedures. Eligibility for these additional benefits is based on the employee's ability to permanently relocate to Van Horn, TX, or travel to Van Horn from another Blue location a minimum of 50% of the time. Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Based upon your desired career path, your projects may involve all aspects of GNC engineering including guidance, navigation, controls, autonomy, avionics, simulation, system test, aerosciences, and systems engineering Specific duties are subject to our business unit objectives. Qualifications: Successfully completed an internship with Blue Origin in 2024. Enrolled or recently graduating student attending a college or university. Able to start working full-time on or before September of 2025. Minimum of a B.S. degree in physics, aerospace engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar discipline. Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs. Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction. Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills. Passion for Blue's Mission with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: M.S. degree or PhD in physics, aerospace engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
