Job Description

ENR's #1 rated water engineering firm, AECOM, is seeking a West Region Drinking Water Practice Leader to help drive innovation, growth, and technical excellence for all drinking water activities. This senior level position will ideally be based in Texas or California, we are open to other locations for the right candidate with Seattle being 1 of the other locations we would consider. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Serves as the leader of AECOM West Region Water Business Line’s drinking water activities, in coordination with region business line leader, market sector leads, division general manager(s), and growth leads. This includes providing technical leadership and support to project teams during the execution of projects, driving growth of the Drinking Water practice and business in the US West Region, and providing technical engagement/leadership with clients and the industry during pursuit of Drinking Water opportunities.

  • Provide technical leadership for project, support training and growth of staff, and support strategy and sale of AECOM’s services to this designated market sector.

  • Has extensive knowledge of the business and product offerings to support cross-discipline/business line/region collaboration.

  • Anticipate opportunities and trends in the business line, market sector and in adjacent market sectors.

  • Serve as technical lead directing and executing work related to drinking water treatment.

  • Provide technical support to other projects in the Water Business unit.

  • Build strong relationships and interact regularly with clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders linked to the market sector.

  • Development of major pursuits and provides oversight of capture plans that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities.

  • Draw in technical expertise from across the organization to support pursuits.

  • Continuously interacts with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner.

  • Responsible for managing and developing employees in accordance with AECOM core values and performance management competencies, including managing talent and proactively supporting the performance management process.

  • Reinforce collaboration and team building, ensures client focus, demonstrates commitment to excellence and innovation, and motivates others to ensure positive morale and engagement.

  • Ensure that AECOM programs such as Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Ethics & Compliance are an overriding part of the organizational culture.

  • Provide input on BD expenditures and priorities based on market trends.

  • Coordinate with Technical Practice to align skills with market trends and to drive strategic technical leadership hires.

  • Continuously build a strong professional network through personal contacts, conference planning and strategy development

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree + 10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's (MS) or Doctorate (PhD) in Engineering. Environmental, Civil or Chemical preferred

  • Extensive and proven knowledge of municipal drinking water market.

  • 20+ years drinking water industry experience.

  • Well-known in the industry through AWWA and related industry organizations

  • Ability to broad scan other water related end markets and to assist in strategy development.

  • Agile response to fast paced, complex work environment and organizational change.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $175,000.00 - $260,000.00.
