The Team

As part of our team, you will collaborate with a diverse group of HR professionals who are committed to delivering a superior employee experience, focusing on client needs, and maintaining fair and consistent practices for everyone.

Your Role You are responsible for leading the Total Rewards function and overseeing all compensation and benefits programs, expat assignments, and outbound secondments, as well as all inbound US immigration. You provide strategic direction and oversight of the development, implementation, and maintenance of the foundation’s compensation, benefits, and global mobility programs, including directing job evaluation and salary surveys, salary structures, and developing salary budgets. You manage the creation of policies and procedures to ensure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation globally. Additionally, you oversee the company’s benefits programs, including negotiating coverage and costs with carriers, and in partnership with finance, managing the benefits budget. You are a key member of the HR leadership team and will contribute to objectives and key results across the HR function.

What You'll Do

  • Direct the Global Benefits, Compensation, and Global Mobility teams by offering guidance and leadership, mentoring team members, managing performance, fostering professional development, prioritizing daily tasks, facilitating projects, and identifying solutions.

  • Coach, develop, and lead direct reports to ensure the team delivers and develops a compelling and competitive offering for employees that respects and represents the foundation’s culture.

  • Contribute as a member of the HR Leadership Team that develops and tracks the foundation’s goals, strategies, and initiatives.

  • Closely collaborate with peers and partners across the foundation (e.g., Legal, Finance, and Tax).

  • Oversee the optimal utilization of the Total Rewards budget and resources.

  • Develop and execute strategic programs, policies, and philosophies across the foundation that encompass compensation, benefits, mobility, recognition, and rewards.

  • Provide the foundation with improved compensation decision-making tools and transactional processing capabilities.

  • Lead priority initiatives related to benefits design and administration, including the continual evaluation of the effectiveness of benefit programs, practices, and procedures in relation to the strategic objectives and recommend new benefits.

  • Provide pay recommendations for executive/leadership level hires as well as overall budget determination for foundation-wide increases. This includes approving compensation decisions outside normal guidelines.

  • Oversee the management of benefits and mobility vendors, and compensation consultants.

  • Responsible for hiring and managing the talent needed to achieve the foundation’s goals.

  • Accountable for integration and driving progress against DEI organizational goals and division commitments.

  • Foster enabling conditions for talent to thrive and be accountable for inclusive team culture.

  • Model and coach equitable decision-making, inclusive behaviors & actions; address escalated issues in a timely fashion.

  • Ability to travel 10 to 20% to regional offices.

    Your Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated experience preferably in Human Resources, Finance or Business

  • Advanced business sense and expertise and ability to tie department objectives to larger organizational goals.

  • Advanced knowledge of trends, legislative activity, and regulatory issues that affect compensation and benefits.

  • Advanced knowledge of compensation, benefits, and mobility programs and design.

  • Comprehensive experience in human resources with experience building best-in-class global programs in complex, international environments requiring strong alignment with multiple internal partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead impactful, professional-level teams, including demonstrated ability to attract, assess, hire, develop, coach, reward/recognize, and retain employees; including managers and individual contributors.

Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.

The salary range for this role is $322,000 to $499,100 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences where our offices are in: Seattle and Washington D.C. The range for this role in these locations is $350,700 to $543,600 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
