Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Director of Vendor Partnership is responsible for developing and managing the Co-op’s omni-channel vendor marketing program. This leader is accountable for building and launching a retail media network program spanning in-store and marketing activations, and digital/ecommerce. The Director will drive cross-functional collaboration across several functions, including visual merchandising, marketing, legal, product marketing, store operations, and technology to set-up and manage this program.

Key to this role is setting and achieving bold revenue and contribution margin targets, ensuring the program drives financial and strategic outcomes. The Director will drive aggressive, phased growth for the retail media network program from initial design to a mature state. This leader should bring relevant experience leading retail media networks and/or vendor partnership programs at an omni-channel retailer.

Develop and Manage the Vendor Marketing Program

  • Create and drive the overall strategy for a holistic vendor partnership program spanning both in-store and digital (website and app) activations

  • Apply previous experience with retail media networks and vendor partnership programs to build and launch all aspects of the Co-op’s program

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to design, launch, and manage the retail media network program

Revenue Generation and Target Realization

  • Set and achieve aggressive revenue and contribution margin targets

  • Partner with merchant team to optimize vendor relationships to drive program revenue and margin.

Value Proposition and Vendor Partnerships

  • Develop a compelling value proposition for vendor participation in the Co-op’s program

  • Partner with Co-op merchandising teams to pitch strategic and tactical proposals to meet Co-op goals

Campaign Design and Execution

  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to design, plan, and execute strategic and tactical campaigns and activations across the Co-op’s marketing channels and omni-channel network of stores, web, and app-based experiences

Multi-Year Plan and Program Expansion

  • Build a multi-year plan to iterate and rapidly expand the financial and strategic impact of the SVP program based on learnings, feedback, and results

  • Grow the SVP program to achieve eventual retail media network aspirations, including supporting the evolution of Co-op tech platform and infrastructure to enable the program at scale

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Business, Finance, Management, or related field; MBA preferred

  • 10+ years building and leading teams in product marketing, retail media network operations

  • Proven track record in developing and scaling products and programs from the ground up

  • Strategic change agent with experience working cross-functionally with diverse stakeholder groups to achieve and implement a strategy

  • Success leading ambiguous, complex, and $MM revenue-impacting projects, programs, and products

  • Ability to assess business risks proactively and mitigate

  • Technologically fluent and capable of partnering with IT organization to implement vision OR managing future engineering / product direct reports

  • People management experience including excellent interpersonal and leadership skills: meeting facilitation, skill-sharing and training, organization, conflict management, change agent, manage relationships.

  • Collective thinker, who will drive enterprise outcomes, and facilitate a “win-together” culture.

  • Success leading and developing a team of world-class retail media network, vendor marketing, and product development professionals, including ability to coach, develop and leverage the experience of seasoned executives within organization.

  • Exceptional relationship management expertise; establishes trust and inspires others.

Pay Range

$137,500.00 - $233,900.00 per year
