Job Summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a dynamic, mission-driven Director of Community Partnerships and Sales to play a key role in driving the growth and success of our Y Overnight Camps, Outdoor Leadership, and Outdoor Environmental Education programs by developing and nurturing strategic partnerships within the community, leading sales and outreach efforts, and increasing enrollment. This innovative position requires a passionate and creative individual who is committed to expanding the Y’s reach, forging meaningful relationships, and promoting the benefits and value of a Y outdoor experience for all young people.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, partnership development, and community engagement, as well as an understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges that come with promoting an overnight camp environment. This position requires collaboration across teams to ensure that our camp programs remain a top choice for families while continuing to build sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with community organizations, schools, businesses, and other stakeholders. In close partnership with the highly collaborative YMCA of Greater Seattle leadership, the Director of Community Partnerships and Sales is expected to build upon the organization’s success, constructing and fulfilling all assigned financial and operational goals and objectives. We are seeking a proven leader who can direct and support change management with ease. The Director of Community Partnerships and Sales will be comfortable motivating, communicating, and influencing and in a multitude of environments with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens.

Responsibilities

Sales and Enrollment Growth:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to increase camp enrollment and overall revenue, targeting new families, organizations, schools, and corporate sponsors.

  • Support implementation of targeted marketing campaigns (digital, print, social media) to drive awareness and generate leads. Inform the vision for and creation of marketing content (video, photo, and print) to support direct partnership and sales efforts. Support the distribution of marketing materials that promote the camp’s unique programs and benefits.

  • Develop and implement a strategic partnership and outreach plan to increase the diversity, equity, and inclusion of the Y’s camping and outdoor leadership programs. Work closely with the camp leadership team to track and analyze enrollment trends, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet growth goals.

  • Conduct outreach and follow-up communications with prospective families and school leaders to convert leads into camp and outdoor leadership registrations.

  • Lead information sessions, camp fairs, and open houses to engage with prospective campers and their families.

  • Attend local community partner meetings and youth focused events such as PTA meetings and non-profit meetings and events.

  • Work with the Y’s Marketing Team to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms, reflecting the camp’s mission and values.

    Community Partnerships and Outreach:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with local schools, community organizations, businesses, and other partners to enhance camp visibility and build long-term, sustainable partnerships.

  • Identify opportunities for collaboration, such as home school associations, after-school programs, community events, and corporate sponsorships that align with the YMCA’s mission and support camp growth.

  • Develop and manage partnerships with community leaders, local businesses, and nonprofits to establish the Y’s Camping & Outdoor Leadership programs as a key resource and industry leader for youth development and community engagement.

  • Act as the primary liaison for community outreach efforts, ensuring that the camp’s programs are inclusive and accessible to diverse populations.

    Program Development and Feedback:

  • Collaborate with the camp program staff to provide reciprocal feedback ensuring that camp offerings align and adapt with the changing needs and interests of the target market.

  • Gather feedback from parents, community partners, and campers to continuously improve the camp’s offerings, impact, and customer satisfaction.

  • Identify and create new programs or partnerships that expand the camp’s reach and appeal to a broader demographic.

    Budget and Reporting:

  • Develop and manage the community partnerships and sales budget, ensuring that spending aligns with strategic goals and priorities.

  • Monitor and report on sales performance, partnership progress, and enrollment trends to the Senior Executive Director and adjust strategies as needed.

  • Provide regular updates on key partnership opportunities and outcomes, including metrics related to camp enrollment, revenue, and community impact.

  • Build and maintain relevant customer/partner relationship management tools to update and inform critical work across the camping and outdoor leadership team.

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.

    Travel

    Travel within the assigned region is expected and is primarily during the business day, though some programs and meetings will take place in the evenings or on weekends. The ability to travel to schools, camp properties, and program spaces that may not be on public transit lines will be expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience in Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Business Management, or a related field. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.

  • 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or community outreach, ideally within the youth, education, or camp industry.

  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and driving enrollment and/or revenue growth.

  • Experience in creating and executing enrollment campaigns.

  • Knowledge of youth development, outdoor education, or camp programs is a plus.

  • Must be highly organized, able to work independently and have an ability to work under pressure to coordinate multiple requests and meet competing deadlines. Strong project management skills.

  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a creative problem solver who can adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong customer service orientation.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).

  • Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
