This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, your primary responsibility involves managing those that plan and perform initial execution of integrated avionics, fluid, and mechanical systems tests for the New Glenn Launch Vehicle. This role entails building and managing a team of talented Managers, Test Leads, Test Engineers, and Project Managers to reliably execute the team charter. Your team will coordinate with all test stakeholders, ensure tests are designed to satisfy defined objectives, and partner in initial vehicle testing with teams in Florida and support new system development testing at various Blue Origin or support contractor sites. In this role, you will be required to maintain a high standard of quality under challenging schedule goals and prioritize the safety of your team above all else. You will be accountable for defects present in the test process and drive corrective actions to ensure that they are conclusively addressed. It will also be up to you to further assess test execution and define opportunities for improvements to shorten test cycle time and reduce operational costs. Periodic travel will be required between our Washington State and Florida sites. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree or higher in Engineering or related technical discipline. 7-10 years industry experience in launch system, aerospace, or satellite operations testing. Proven experience and successful track record leading teams and influencing company-level policy and direction. Proven experience in motivating other departments within your company to commit to a collaborative effort and delivery on an aggressive schedule. Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail and level of organization. Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor. Passion for spaceflight and space exploration. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years industry experience in launch system, aerospace, or satellite operations testing.
