Position Director, Consumer Technology

Description

Location: Seattle, Hybrid - 3 days in-house

About this role

This role is responsible for managing our consumer facing technology and setting the roadmap for the future. The role / team is required to exceed our aspirational goals for the direct-to-consumer business. This will include managing the current state while also setting the organization up for the long-term success in system performance, enhancements, features and modernizing the platform. The leader needs deep understanding / passion for ecommerce platforms and technologies and the enabler it can be for the business, combined with a successful build vs. buy track record. Extensive experience of balancing the realities of today and the foundation building for the future. A strong collaborator internally and a strategic negotiator with external vendors / resources.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Current Platform – Ensure our current consumer technology provides the best customer experience to enable our current business

  • Trouble Shoot – Work cross functionally and externally to address any urgent issues that arise

  • Consumer Technology Road map- Develop the plan for future consumer technology migrations and investments to support new customer experiences and aggressive sales growth

  • Collaboration – Strong collaboration with our internal facing technology team to align data flows and reporting needs

  • Organization Dynamics - Uphold a transparent creative development process to ensure that all key stakeholders provide input and feedback into key consumer facing technology decisions

  • Team Dynamics – Uphold and Encourage strong team dynamics within team, making space for professional and skills development.

    Position Requirements

What you should bring to the table:

  • Proven expertise in ecommerce platforms, solutions, and system integrations

  • Strong presentation skills to both internal and external audiences

  • Proven success in developing and driving change in an organization

  • Passion for the customer experience, both current and future

  • Experience leading teams and developing people

  • Exceptional understanding of business objectives with a proven record of delivering against aspirations

  • Experience setting strategy, positioning stories and managing project timelines and budget.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to be flexible within the job to ensure the best processes/systems for smooth completion of all projects

  • Comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups and with a high level of transparency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College Degree in technology or related professional experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in technology fields
