This job contributes to Starbucks success by leading a team of partners to develop our long-term beverage innovation pipeline. You will partner with broad cross functional teams to define and deliver rapid and disruptive beverage innovation and experiences, balancing customer, partner, and business needs. You will guide, coach, and develop a strong, high performing team while modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

As a director, Beverage Innovation you will…

Lead, model and inspire teams in innovation mindset, innovation methodologies and building insights and strategy all in service to developing our beverage pipeline.

  • Set and communicate clear priorities for your team that enable the team to deliver on our innovation goals

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders across the organization to develop and advance our innovation programs

  • Lead your team in advancing defined innovation programs into various phases of development.

  • Lead your team in defining future innovation programs to build continual pipeline of innovation

  • Advance work to deliver 5-year strategic roadmaps across key strategic pillars

  • Input into long-term strategic planning and Operating planning work across beverage

  • Identify ways to continue to optimize our innovation process, in partnership with cross-functional leaders and your team

  • Coach and develop a team of 6 partners, including 2 direct reports

  • Play a key role in driving inclusion and diversity across the beverage team

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Bachelors degree or 4 or more years of US military experience

  • 10 or more years of experience in a role supporting marketing, brand management or product management

  • 3-5 years experience developing innovation pipelines, leading innovation and new product development.

  • 5 or more years of experience in a role leading the development of new or existing products or strategies from conception to implementation

  • Delivers recommendation that demonstrate cross-functional strategic thinking and drive an initiative to conclusion

  • Set personal and business goals, develop organizational capability, and model how cross functional groups work together toward a common goal

  • The ability to identify and secure organizational support

  • Solid business acumen and skilled at business case creation and alignment
