UW Medical Center-Montlake Nutrition Services department has an opportunity for a part-time (23 hours per week), evening shift, DIETARY UNIT CLERK.


  • Receive/Answer phone calls from patients and staff.

  • Data entry of patient diet orders and food item requests according to established food patterns and diet restrictions.

  • Process email communication and printed diet orders

  • Update Patients note area of CBORD as appropriate

  • Enter supplement and snack requests into CBORD

  • Contribute to team process; maintain cooperative work environment and work to improve quality of service provided to patient and staff.

  • Assist with any remaining patients from Lunchtime Missed Meal Report

  • Print Advance Ticket Order Change Report

  • Call patients who have not ordered meal - Order Supplement through Room service screen if ordered

  • Run updated allergy report q hour and update allergies as needed

  • Enter snacks/supplements/fluid/free water restrictions as received


Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment, high school graduation or GED, and one year of experience as a Dietary Unit Aide in a health care facility or equivalent. One year of additional experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
