The Alzheimer's Association Development Relations Specialist in Seattle, Washington

Description The Development Relations Specialist (DRS) is responsible for ensuring a positive donor experience through excellent customer service and development and support of strong donor relations systems. The DRS is the Mail Processing Lead for Region 1 (WA, OR, ID, AK). They are responsible for timely and accurate capture and tracking of donor data. The DRS prepares donor correspondence relating to donations and inquiries; generates lists for mailing, and provides donor-related reports and analyses to the Director of Development and the Leadership Team as requested. They also act as a point of contact with the Association's Home Office Donor Services team for matters relating to donation tracking and acknowledgements; and collaborate with the Region's Operations teams for matters relating to cash receipts and gift processing. This position is based in Seattle, WA and reports to the Director of Development. Responsibilities: Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Donor Relations (20% of effort) Supports donor stewardship strategies through facilitation of regular donor communications, such as thank you notes and other donor correspondence Acts as first point of contact for donor inquiries and requests for assistance, ensuring excellent donor customer service and satisfaction Provides regular donor giving reports to Director of Development and Executive Director, highlighting gifts and donors of particular importance Partners with the Director of Development to continuously improve donor relations systems and processes (i.e. donor thank you notes) Researches prospective donors and grant funders, including Foundations Manages company giving and employee matching portals at a local level Regional Mail Processing and Finance (30% of effort) Opens and processes mail received in Seattle, WA for the entire Region 1 area, encompassing Washington State, Alaska, Idaho, and Oregon, ensuring accuracy of coding, gift and donor information Manages local cash receipts and deposit process. Acts as lead contact for the Region with the Association's Home Office Donor Services team. Provides guidance and support on donor gift related questions for other Chapters in Region 1. Supports the Regional Finance team through gift transaction research, fiscal year end reconciliation, etc. Development and Event Support (35% of effort) Works collaboratively with Development and Leadership Team to assist in foundation LOI and grant writing process Tracks event sponsorships through invoicing and receipt process Assists the development team as needed with event registrations and/or event logistics, including day of event support. Hosts information tables at various outreach and fundraising events as requested. Office Administration (5% of effort) Coordinates with Operations Manager in shared office management responsibilities including answering the phone reception line, ordering office supplies, IT support, mail collection and distribution, etc. Supports virtual events through platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet Team Participation (10% of effort) All employees are expected to adopt the mission of the organization in their daily work and to professionally represent the Association outside of work.
