CCSWW Development Manager for Stewardship in Seattle, Washington


As a member of the Catholic Charities Foundation, the primary focus of the Manager of Donor Stewardship is advancing the relationship between CCS/CHS and its broad-based donors. Incumbent leads stewardship retention efforts by managing email marketing, Mission Keeper (monthly donor) engagement, and gratitude calls.


  • In collaboration with the DDOSI, develop a stewardship plan to retain 60% of donors by 2025.

  • Using ReNXT Work and in conjunction with the Database Manager, build out donor stewardship plan and target key lapsing donors for individual cultivation.

  • In collaboration with the Communications team, incumbent manages the email communication to donors. The primary focus is developing and implementing an email communications strategy, including editing and sending targeted stories to inspire connection to CCS/CHS. The secondary focus is data integrity including email record cleanup and list development. Incumbent works with the Data Stewardship Team to ensure all email data are accurate.

  • Under the direction of the DDOSI and in conjunction with the Database Manager, develop and maintain procedures and training materials that reflect email communication usage and email communication goals for the CCF.

  • Create and maintain reports and tracking systems around email communication and lead the monthly email report meeting with Communications team and DDOSI.

  • Oversee the Mission Keeper (monthly donor) program by analyzing the monthly report on Mission Keeper donors, in collaboration with Communications team, stewarding monthly donors with quarterly regional stories, and developing new stewardship ideas to increase the number of donors and the dollars from the Mission Keeper program.

  • Manage weekly gratitude call procedure by pulling the call list and disseminating it to frontline fundraisers and the Manager for Parish and Donor Relations using ReNXT.

  • Send weekly welcome postcards to new donors and oversee automated weekly welcome emails.

  • In collaboration with the DDOSI, create and maintain reports and tracking systems around stewardship efforts and email communication/fundraising.

  • At the Direction of DDOSI, support program managers by providing stewardship consultation and at program events.

  • Support stewardship initiatives led by the Executive Vice President of Catholic Charities Foundation, Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer.

  • Provide Foundation team backup as needed – which may include data entry and customer service.

  • Contribute to a team culture of innovation, creativity, continuous learning, and automation.

  • Build a positive working relationship with team members, donors and other constituents.

  • Assist in other special projects as needed.


  • Three years of nonprofit fundraising or a combination of fundraising work and education.

  • Familiarity with ReNXT or comparable software and proven ability to leverage technology to automate or simplify fundraising tasks.

  • Successful implementation of donor stewardship strategies and email communication to increase donor retention rates and donor giving.

  • Proven project management skills, preferably in a fund development environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Values data, research, and reporting to advance the goals of the department.

  • Proven accurate data entry experience.

  • Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

  • Willingness to learn and work well within a team environment, both independently and as an active member of the team.

  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.

  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.

  • Understand Catholic Church and culture.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit leadership.

  • Native Spanish Speaker.

  • Experience working in ReNXT.

  • Familiar with Catholic Church and culture.

  • Knowledge of and experience with community-centered fundraising.
