Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced AV technician to set up and operate event media equipment. As an AV technician, you will organize and install media equipment such as projectors, microphones, video monitors, and soundboards. You may also be required to alter the venue layout to enhance acoustics.

 

Attractions of the Job:

F5 Tower is a cutting-edge modern downtown Seattle high-rise with 200+ AV/IT systems. These systems include Zoom Rooms, video walls, digital signage, and large multi-purpose rooms with complex AV signal routing, control systems, and digital signal processing. In this role, you will spend 90% of your time responding to production and end-user support. This is an onsite role and does not support the ability to work remotely.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with Event Coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements.
  • Altering venue arrangements according to layout diagrams.
  • Setting up and installing microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and video cameras.
  • Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment.
  • Operating sound and visual equipment during events.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and ensuring events run smoothly.
  • Maintaining strong customer relations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely status information; record sufficient resolution summary information when closing or escalating tickets.
  • Disassembling audio and visual equipment and packing up after the event.
  • Experience supporting a large scale of meeting rooms/AV systems. Experience Zoom Rooms, Crestron Control, Biamp DSPs, Digital Signage

Other Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for upholding F5s Business Code of Ethics and promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelors or AA degree in sound engineering or a similar field.
  • Previous experience working as an AV technician.
  • In-depth understanding of sound, video, and lighting equipment.
  • Familiarity with computers and IP Networking Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of modern filming and sound mixing techniques.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • High level of physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

     

Qualifications:

Associate degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) required

1-2 years experience
