Actalent Design Supervisor in Seattle, Washington

Description:

The Design Supervisor will be responsible for the timely and accurate production of process and fabrication drawings for chemical process equipment projects by managing a staff of design/drafters and a drafting LAN composed of AutoCAD-Solidworks workstations, server and output devices. Providing project coordination and control for drafting requirements. Experience preparing process schematics (P&ID, PFD), vessel fabrication, piping, and electrical (power and instrumentation) drawings is essential background .

Duties:

1.) Managing the preparation of an organized set of up-to-date drawings for all on-going projects; including:

a. Process schematics (P&ID and PFD)

b. Mechanical detail drawings for fabricated assemblies with machine tolerances.

c. ASME Code vessel fabrication drawings.

d. Process piping fabrication drawings for chemical process systems.

e. Electrical wiring schematics and fabrication drawings for chemical process systems.

2.) Maintaining the drafting LAN and software, managing the archiving and security of drawing files, including software updates and employee training.

3.) Managing the drafting staff and coordinating effort to meet project schedules and support Sales effort.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications:

1.) 5 – 10 years of related work experience including managerial duties and systems management experience.

2.) Drafting in the following design/engineering standards:

 ASME pressure vessels; ANSI process piping; ASTM materials

 Structural steel; Mechanical detailing for machine shop fabrication; Civil details (foundations, equipment supports); Electrical wiring details (single line, wiring diagrams, motor control circuits) – all pluses.

3.) The ability to plan and organize work accurately and quickly in a fast paced environment, and to monitor progress and keep to a schedule.

4.) Team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills to work with Designers, Project Engineers, Production Shop personnel and customers.

5.) Self-motivated with project organizational skills, the ability to work productively with minimal supervision.

Worksite Environment

Onsite at their Office / Manufacturing Facility in West Seattle

12 month contract to hire including 5 days of PTO, 6 Holidays as well as paid Sick Days
