Amazon Prime Video is seeking an experienced Data Scientist for the Prime Video Search team to truly innovate how video discovery works on behalf of millions of customers, globally. Do you have a genuine curiosity about how customers find video content and a dedication to creative problem solving to make it easier for customers to jump into playback? You will help lead research efforts, prototype, develop, and run statistical models to forecast search customer behavior of new/updated customer experiences. We are still Day One, enabling you to drive impact globally and across all Prime Video enabled devices as you work with a team to build out science-ready data sets focused on making Prime Video search the first place for customers to begin their content viewing discovery. This position will:* You will build models and tools using technical knowledge in machine learning, statistical modeling, probability and decision theory, and other quantitative techniques to drive hypothesis testing and business insights.* You will improve upon existing methodologies by developing new data sources, testing model enhancements, and fine-tuning model parameters.* You will directly contribute to the design and development of automated forecasting systems.* You will have the opportunity to collaborate with product, program, engineers, business intelligence, and applied scientists to define product requirements, provide analytical support, and communicate feedback.* Bachelor's Degree* 3+ years of experience with data scripting languages (e.g SQL, Python, R etc.) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Matlab)* 2 years working as a Data Scientist* Ability to create long-view research road maps that impact product life cycles using a variety of appropriate techniques.* Ability to create systems and mechanisms to generate ongoing, regular insights to inform product development.* Use experimental design and statistics to assist in the design and measurement of various hypothesis testing.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
