Nordstrom, Inc seeks a Data Scientist in Seattle, WA. Duties: Analyze data and apply mathematical and statistical techniques to help solve business problems. Perform data wrangling on large scale data sets in the context of retail and supply chain operations. Conduct data analysis based on business requirements and apply advanced analytical methods as needed. Implement large-scale optimization and statistical models in the areas of supply chain and transportation. Research, design, and prototype algorithms to help improve the performance of the current analysis, forecasting and optimization methods. Derive insights and present findings at multiple levels of stakeholders via visual displays of quantitative information. Requires a minimum of a Doctorate degree in Statistics, Operations Research, or Industrial Engineering, plus 2 years of experience in a related occupation. Requires 2 years of experience in all of the following: Gurobi, Cplex, or Xpress; LP, MIP, NLP, or stochastic programming; and common predictive analytic methods like regression and time series models. Requires 1 year of experience with Tableau, Power BI, or Shiny. 40 hours/week.
