Starbucks Coffee Company Data Scientist Sr in Seattle, Washington

Data Scientist Sr:

  • Use statistical, machine learning techniques to build models that address business needs.
  • Extract data from various data sources and perform exploratory data analysis, cleansing, massaging, and aggregating data.
  • Work cross functionally with other data scientists, statisticians, and business analysts to define business problems and implement solutions.
  • Connect insights to business decision making options and next steps testing or research opportunities.
  • Develop processes to automate and scale insights.
  • Work with Business Managers and Architects to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome.
  • Establish and foster close collaboration between data and decision scientists, engineers, business and leadership teams to align on technical roadmaps for innovation.
  • Drive creation of final insights package and recommendations; leads presentation.
  • Leverage advanced geospatial analysis tools to assess market potential, optimize site selection, and provide data-driven insights, ensuring the implementation of effective retail location strategies that drive sales growth and enhance customer experience in alignment with overall business objectives.

Telecommuting permitted up to 40% per week.

Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $183,581 - $211,600 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in a data science or related role; or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive experience in a data science or related role.

 

Must have 3 years of experience in performing exploratory data analysis to understand relationships and opportunities to influence outcomes.

 

Must have 3 years of experience working with predictive and statistical modeling, machine learning in all phases of the modeling pipeline.

 

Must have 3 years of experience in building and analyzing complex data sets from multiple data sources (both internally and externally).

 

Must have 3 years of experience in designing, developing, and evaluating data transformations to solve specific business problems.

 

Must have 3 years of experience in machine learning (Classification Regression, Unsupervised Learning, Semi Supervised learning), and selecting and engineering features, and building, evaluating, and optimizing algorithms.

 

Must have 3 years of experience in programming using Python or R.

 

Must have 3 years of experience with Cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, or GCP.

  

Must have 3 years of experience in data manipulation skills including cleaning and managing data with SQL or ETL.

 

Must have 2 years of experience working with distributed data processing frameworks, including Spark or Data Bricks, and languages, including Java, PySpark, or Scala.
