The Amazon Human Factors and Ergonomic Innovation (AHFEI) team seeks a results-oriented Data Scientist to deliver world-class forecasts for our ergonomic solutions throughout our fulfillment network. Our team develops, assesses and improves human enabled systems to enhance operational safety, productivity, and usability.A qualified candidate will have be able to dive deep into data, discovering root causes, and designing long-term solutions while understanding how proposed changes will drive business impact. It will be a person who likes to have fun, loves to learn, and wants to innovate in the world of Human Factors and Ergonomics. Collaboration across engineering, research, and business teams will be paramount for future innovation and critical to the success of the role and our product space. Iterative delivery in a production environment is a must, so a qualified candidate will have a track record of delivering forecast improvements with an established timeline. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed with individual responsibilities within a collaborative peer environment.Basic Qualifications* Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related scientific, technical, or engineering field* 3+ years of experience with data scripting languages (e.g SQL, Python, R etc.) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Matlab)* Proficient with data analysis and modeling software such as Spark,etc.* Proficient with using scripting language and data manipulation/analysis libraries for analyzing and modeling data.* Experienced in using multiple data science methodologies to solve complex business problems.* Experienced in handling large data sets using SQL and databases in a business environment.* Excellent verbal and written communication.* Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.* Thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
