Nordstrom, Inc. seeks a Data Scientist 2 in Seattle, WA.
Duties:
Translate business problems into solvable data science objectives. Design, measure, refine key performance indicator metrics. Research and develop machine learning products to reduce Supply Chain costs and shipping time to customers. Design, develop, and deploy data extraction, transformation, and load pipelines. Tune and iteratively improve machine learning models. Deploy machine learning models into production in collaboration with engineers.
Telecommuting permitted.
Requires a Master's degree in Data Science or related quantitative field (or foreign equivalent) plus 1 year of related experience. Must possess one (1) year of experience with each of the following:
- Hands-on data science experience in corporate setting
- Querying data with SQL
- Cloud computing, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Applying statistical concepts to real-world business problems
- Developing machine learning models using python and/or R
- Communicating results to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Version control, such as git
Software engineering best practices, including story estimation, test-driven development, and code review
